There are many paths in Portugal, but only those who came from the north and follow the path of the mountains or those who come from the south and follow the Algarve coast, arrive to the little village of Tôr.
Near the recognizable image of the village, the roman bridge, we can find Quinta da Tôr which has the privilege of being inserted in the naturality and simplicity of the mountains.
These properties belonged to the same family since 1500 till 2011, when they were regenerated with the new owner family, with origins and strong roots to the village. Moved by the passion and pride for their homeland, the family did not ignore the qualities of the land, therefore they recovered the wineries and built a new winehouse (“adega”). The micro clime, the low temperatures in the winter and high temperatures in the Summer, allows for good and balanced maturation of the 7 grapes that this land has to offer ( Touriga Nacional, Sirah, Carbernet Sauvignon, Aragonez, Siria, Arinto, Chardonnay).
Such a natural and unique scenario and such a special climate can only be complete with a glass of wine from Quinta da Tôr.

We offer a unique sensory experience with wines that represent “our” Algarve. Our brand image is wines with high alcohol level, between 16 and 17 alcohol degrees, that surprise with an unexpected smoothness, explosion of flavours and complexity.

History
Old dream is born
In 2011, Quinta da Tôr regenerates in the small village of Tôr, originating an old dream, a new vineyard and a new winehouse. With effort, persistence and selection great levels of quality were achieved, the fruit is transformed and the dream is born.
Two years later
Our first batches are composed by the red wine “Quinta da Tôr – Touriga Nacional and Quinta da Tôr – Sirah, which are produced in 2013 to be lauched the following year. They encounted with the participation of the winemakers Pedro Mendes and Joaquim Roque. In vinivista. Lda we can find great critiques from consumers.
Consolidation
Quinta da Tôr consolidates the presence in the market with the production of two more wines to the family, Quinta da Tôr – Rosé and Quinta da Tôr – Aragonez, both with clear culinary prowess.
It was also produced our best seller of all the time, the Quinta da Tôr – Sirah 17 º, that surprised for the unexpected quality. When it was launched, it sold out in 1 month and a half.
Diversification
In 2015, Quinta da Tôr reinforces and diversifies its offer with the Bag in Box Multicasta, Quinta da Tôr – Cabernet Sauvignon and Quinta da Tôr – Reserve, a wine with character, engaging and with fine and silky texture.
Going premium
In 2017 we lauched our superior range, Quinta da Tôr – Algibre, a multigrape reserve from 2014, which characteristics led to a silver award in Algarve wines.
Also, the array was diversified, now with white wines: it was produced wines from the grapes Chardonnay, Arinto and Siria.
Opening doors…
In 2018 we opened the doors of Quinta da Tôr. We opened the store where you can get to know and buy all of our wines, and we open doors for those who wish to know us better with guided tours and wine tastings. The goal is that you get to know our passion and that you bring home memories of the authentic Algarve.
Nasce a Quinta Matos Brancos em Lagos. Fazemos o percurso da serra para o litoral. Comprámos uma Quinta em Espiche (Lagos), com influência marítima, para grandes vinhos, frescos e com taninos.
